The mobile edge allows users and devices to connect over the air and across anynetwork, to securely gain access to enterprise resources. The mobile edge is an evolutionary new architecture that delivers mobility, security and convergence for today’s networks and builds on a vision where the enterprise network will ultimately have far fewer ports than today. Aruba’s Mobile Edge System consists of three components: Mobility, Security and Covergence. Aruba mobility controllers are centralized service delivery platforms for the Mobile Edge Controlled access points (APs) which tunnel wired & wireless user traffic to mobility controllers over the LAN, WAN and the Internet. Aruba software provides all the intelligence for the Mobile Edge keeping highest level of sercurity.

ARUBA Mobility Controllers

Aruba Networks' Mobility Controller system completely changes how 802.11 networks are deployed, secured, and managed. The only mobile security system with an integrated ICSA-certified stateful firewall and hardware-based encryption, the Aruba mobility controller is the industry's highest performing and most scalable enterprise mobility platform on the market today. Aruba offers the industry's only modular and stackable mobility controllers for every enterprise environment, which enable a seamless, secure deployment of the mobile edge. Now, administrators are freed from the costly and time-consuming process of managing individual APs. And as security standards change and new mobile services emerge, they are easily implemented at the controller and propagated throughout the enterprise. All Aruba mobility controllers combine powerful packet processing with 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet switching, stateful LAN-speed firewalling, VPN termination, wireless intrusion protection, and advanced RF management-all within a single network device. Because Aruba mobility controllers accept and process native 802.11 traffic, enterprises now have visibility of and remote control over the RF environment like never before. All Aruba mobility controllers integrate seamlessly and non-disruptively into any existing L2/L3 wired network with no logical or physical re-configuration required. Aruba's product family includes the industry's most complete line of modular and stackable mobility controller systems, supporting everything from branch offices to regional headquarters and campus environments.

ARUBA Access Points

Aruba Networks’ family of next-generation, multi-purpose access points (APs) is designed to meet the needs of any enterprise wireless LAN (WLAN) deployment. Aruba APs include single and dual-radio 802.11a/b/g models with a variety of fixed and detachable antenna options. Aruba APs provide converged voice, video and data connectivity, enabling the mobile edge in campus environments, branch offices and remote locations. All Aruba APs function as “thin” APs. Upper layer media access control (MAC) processing functions, such as encryption and authentication, are integrated into Aruba mobility controllers, making Aruba APs more cost-effective and easier to deploy and manage. Aruba APs can simulta- neously service wireless users and act as wireless monitoring devices. This dual functionality eliminates the need for a separate overlay of RF sensors to troubleshoot and optimize the wireless environment. Aruba APs work exclusively with all Aruba mobility controllers to provide a high performance, centrally managed wireless mobility solution for enterprises. Aruba APs automatically configure themselves across any IP network using the Aruba Discovery Protocol, allowing easy upgrades when new features, capabilities or standards emerge and increasing their lifespan. All plenum rated, Aruba APs are small and lightweight, and can be securely deployed in a variety of convenient locations such as on walls, cubicles, desktops and in the ceiling. Antenna diversity allows for the best possible signal processing using dual omni-directional antennas. Aruba offers both indoor and outdoor APs including the single radio Aruba 60, the dual-radio Aruba 70, and the outdoor Aruba 80.
